HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Gun maker Remington can be sued over how it marketed the Bushmaster rifle used to kill 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, a divided Connecticut Supreme Court ruled Thursday.

Justices issued a 4-3 decision that reinstated a wrongful death lawsuit and overturned a lower court ruling that the lawsuit was prohibited by a 2005 federal law that shields gun manufacturers from liability in most cases when their products are used in crimes.

The article goes on to state the following:

The plaintiffs include a survivor and relatives of nine people killed in the massacre. They argue the AR-15-style rifle used by shooter Adam Lanza is too dangerous for the public and Remington glorified the weapon in marketing it to young people.

Remington has denied wrongdoing and previously insisted it can’t be sued under the federal law.

You are suing the wrong entity. This is an attempt to shut down all gun manufacturers. Democrats figure if you can go after the gun manufacturer with frivolous lawsuits then you can get rid of guns by squashing manufacturers financially.
You should be suing Congress for better gun laws with regards to assault weapons such as the Ar-15. The gun didn’t shoot the kids the human did. Obviously, this is to test the courts on whether people can sue the gun manufacturers to extinction.

The AR-15 is not an assault weapon. An assault weapon is an automatic gun the AR-15 is a simiautomatic gun. It’s outer casing is the only difference from any other semiautomatic rifle.

Ridiculous! Guns don’t kill it’s the mentally ill individual holding the gun. Spend your time advocating for mental health, the wall to keep drugs from coming in, and better counseling in the schools.

Just as you can’t sue GM because a guy stole the vehicle and killed innocent kids, you can’t sue a gun manufacturer because someone broke several federal laws before committing a mass murder.
