A gunman has been apprehended Friday after an active shooting situation at a manufacturing plant in Aurora, Illinois.

Aurora police said the area around the Henry Pratt Company is on lockdown and did not release any information on injuries about the shooting that began just after 2 p.m.

The article goes on to state the following:

The City of Aurora Twitter account released an alert Friday that said: “There is an active shooter near Highland and Archer.”

Reportedly, the suspect is an employee at the factory, who came in for his regular shift at 7am Friday morning. He worked nearly his entire shift, then reportedly took out a gun a began firing at co-workers.

According to news reports, at least four police officers have been shot as they responded to the shooting, along with multiple other people.

Kurt Gessler, of the Chicago Tribune, tweeted that he has heard there are some fatalities. Confirmation is still pending on that information.
