Chicago prosecutors have charged R. Kelly with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse, according to court records reviewed by several publications.

Tandra Simonton, spokeswoman for Chicago’s Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, confirmed that charges have been filed to The Associated Press but declined to say the specific number. The Chicago Tribune reports the number of alleged victims was not immediately clear, but three of the indictments referred to a minor between the ages of 13 and 16.

The article goes on to state the following:

Cook County State Attorney Kim Foxx will be announcing the charges against Kelly, whose legal name is Robert Kelly, during a press briefing later on Friday afternoon.

The Hollywood Reporter also provided the following information:

The indictment comes amid reports reports that a grand jury had convened after a new sex tape allegedly showed the R&B singer, 52, sexually assaulting an underage girl.

On Feb. 14, attorney Michael Avenatti turned over to Foxx’s office a recovered VHS videotape allegedly showing Kelly “engaging in multiple sexual assaults of a girl underage.” The tape led to reports that an indictment was imminent in Illinois.

It a sad day to know so many knew of this and did nothing to stop it. Thrilled to see he will finally pay for his transgressions. But the underage victims will forever suffer. 😭😭
