Newly-released FBI documents confirmed previous reports from DML News and Dennis Michael Lynch that a Muslim group with a history of crime and terrorism is training members in isolated communes in America and Canada.

According to the Clarion Project, Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which now goes by the name Muslims of the Americas and other titles, is training members in “Islamic villages” such as its “Islamberg” headquarters in upstate New York.

Dated November 27, 2009, the first FBI document summarized the MOA’s consistent history of extremism and called the group “armed and dangerous.”

“Jamaat ul-Fuqra, aka Muslims of the Americas (MOA), have a history of violence and/or violent acts. Use extreme caution when dealing with confirmed members or individuals who are believed to be associated with this group”

MOA is led by by Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani in Pakistan who is “thought to be supportive of al-Qaeda,” according to FBI reports.

Another document from December 2010 which was recently released refers to “the Muslims of the Americas [aka Fuqra] terrorist organization” and describes its members.

“The MOA [Fuqra] is composed primarily of black American Muslim converts, many who converted to Islam while in prison. Many MOA members reside in rural communities (jamaats) to live and worship free from non-Muslim influence.”

The MOA jamaats, which are located on property that is privately owned or rented by members, usually feature numerous trailers which house members, a mosque, and a guard station — some with armed guards — at the entrances to the compounds. Women and children also reside in the communes, and the children are homeschooled.

MOA has a documented history of conducting basic paramilitary training in America, including weapons training, tactics, hand-to-hand combat, rappelling and live-fire exercises. More advanced training often occurs in Pakistan and Kashmir.

FBI documents state that MOA has approximately 12 jamaats across the United States, although the group contends that it has 22 “Islamic villages” in America in New York, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and Michigan.

“The MOA [Fuqra] is now an autonomous organization which possesses an infrastructure capable of planning and mounting terrorist campaigns overseas and within the U.S.,” stated FBI reports from a 2003-2007 investigation in Texas.

Although the Justice Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is currently investigating members of MOA, the group is not designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the State Department and can therefore operate legally in the United States. Numerous North American Muslim groups and other concerned organizations have urged the State Department to designate MOA as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

Seeking federal influence, Fuqra’s General Counsel, Tahirah Amatul-Wadud, is running for Congress in Massachusetts.

During his intrepid research for his hard-hitting movies, Dennis Michael Lynch visited jamaats, seeing first-hand how the MOA is training terrorists in the U.S.  Here is a scene from DML’s film, “They Come to America: The Cost of Obama.” In this clip, DML visits Islamberg, NY.
