OpEd: Sen. Marco Rubio: Dems’ court-packing plan is all wrong

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News offers the following opinion editorial written by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and published by FOXNEWS.COM:
America’s institutions are far from perfect. But over the past two centuries, they have provided a framework for our nation to become the most dynamic, most vibrant, and most exceptional nation in all of human history.
At this moment though, our institutions are suffering a crisis of confidence as families fragment and communities crumble. And most Americans view every branch of government with disdain.
The article goes on to state the following:
As we have seen, these problems do not necessarily fade from one election to the next. In fact, they may intensify. The path forward will require Americans, their political leaders, the news media and countless others to set aside the political tribalism that dominates today’s culture.
Americans need to view one another as friends, neighbors and coworkers – not Republicans or Democrats.
How does a divided nation overcome corrosive tribalism? Ultimately, we need a restoration of family and community. In the meantime, we should do no further harm. To this end, I am proposing a constitutional amendment to prevent the next political and cultural flashpoint: the packing of the Supreme Court for partisan gains.
Rubio further wrote:
To prevent the delegitimizing of the Supreme Court, I will introduce a constitutional amendment to keep the number of seats at nine. There is nothing magical about the number nine. It is not inherently right just because the number of seats on the Supreme Court remains unchanged since 1869. But there is something inherently good and important about preventing the further destabilization of essential institutions.

Rubio announced on Tuesday in Twitter posts that he will be filing a bill to prevent the Democrats’ “court packing scheme.”
Ironically same people always preaching about our “constitutional norms” want to change the ones they find inconvenient.
In addition to getting rid of #ElectoralCollege they also want to pack #SCOTUS.
I will soon file a bill to prevent this court packing scheme.

We must prevent further destabilization of essential institutions.
Court packing is quickly becoming a litmus test for 2020 Democratic candidates.
Therefore I will be introducing a constitutional amendment to keep the number of seats on #SCOTUS at 9. https://t.co/VBeJaWmeCV

Not particularly a Rubio supporter with this One Exception. The SCOTUS has operated effectively with NINE seats, to change this disrupts the intent of the SCOTUS and would do immense harm. It appears that the Democrats and some RINOs want to keep trying to change the rules and therefore the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This is unacceptable.
