REPORT: Border Patrol posts multiple reports of truck loads of illegal aliens smuggled into US [PHOTOS]

SALTON CITY, Calif. – El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Highway 86 immigration checkpoint arrested a man suspected of smuggling 26 illegal immigrants Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m., when a man drove a tractor-trailer to the checkpoint.  During primary inspection, Border Patrol agents conducted an immigration check on the driver.  During the inspection, a Border Patrol canine detection team alerted to the rear cargo area of the trailer.  The driver and was referred to secondary for further inspection.

The article goes on to state the following:

Border Patrol agents inspected the cargo area of the truck and discovered 26 undocumented immigrants inside the bed of the trailer.

The immigrants were locked inside the trailer with no safety restraints and with no way to extricate themselves from the inside.  Agents safely removed all the occupants.

The 32-year-old truck driver presented a California driver’s license as his own.  However, that document was later determined to be an imposter document.  The driver was determined to be a Mexican national illegally present in the United States.

The driver and all 26 undocumented immigrants, which include one male and one female juveniles, were placed under arrest.

U.S. Border Patrol have intercepted a number of illegal alien smuggling attempts recently via tractor trailers.

On January 21, agents arrested a US citizen smuggling illegal aliens in a tractor-trailer. The driver ditched the rig off-road attempting to evade arrest, leaving 63 people trapped inside w/ no means of escape. “Smugglers have no regard for human life,” tweeted Border Patrol chief Rodney Scott.

According to a CBP press release, Border Patrol agents opened the abandoned trailer and discovered 63 individuals, all illegally present in the United States from the countries of El Salvador, Brazil, Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua and China. 

75 individuals were apprehended by USBP and AMO agents in TX on Wednesday, January 15. Immigration checks revealed the individuals were in the country illegally from the countries of Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Agents also discovered 19 bundles of marijuana in the cab of the semi-truck that weighed approximately 327.02 lbs. with an approximate street value of $261,732.80.
