Washington (CNN) — Federal investigators from the Justice Department’s watchdog office have conducted over 100 interviews in their probe of the FBI’s surveillance efforts of Trump campaign associate Carter Page, according to a letter sent to lawmakers and obtained by CNN.

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who opened the review last year, told congressional committee heads in the late-June letter that his investigators were still pursuing additional witness interviews but that much of the report has already been drafted and their investigative work is “nearing completion.”

The article goes on to state the following:

Among the witnesses investigators have spoken with is Christopher Steele, the author of a dossier of unverified intelligence reports about the Trump campaign, a source briefed on the matter told CNN.

CNN reports that “an official briefed on the matter” said the final report may be finished by “late summer or early fall.”
