Renegade Republicans intent on upending President Trump in 2020 are keeping their powder dry, waiting to see if legal and political controversies drive him from office first.

Political operatives and potential candidates that inhabit the loose-knit community of Republicans who oppose Trump’s re-election are eyeing June as the approximate moment for deciding on a primary challenge or independent bid. It’s a strategic delay. Some Republicans think the weight of multiple investigations could motivate the president to exit the White House after one term — especially if special counsel Robert Mueller issues a politically damaging report.

“The scenario I think we could be heading toward is Trump hitting a Mueller-induced problem where there would suddenly be several people looking at running because of the odds increasing that he won’t run again,” said Rob Stutzman, a veteran GOP consultant in Sacramento, Calif., who has had discussions with like-minded Republicans about how Trump 2020 might be derailed.

The article goes on to state the following:

The Republicans most often listed as possible Trump challengers are outgoing Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who ran in 2016; Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska, who is up for re-election next year; Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah, the GOP presidential nominee in 2012 who was elected to his current post just last year; Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan; and former Sens. Bob Corker of Tennessee and Jeff Flake of Arizona, who sources say are unlikely to run.

I don’t see a one in that list I would even consider voting for. If dividing the conservative vote is their goal, they might succeed.

I don’t care who those idiot Republican’s come up with for a potential candidate in 2020, President Trump is still their ace in the hole. If they don’t understand that by now, their sorry asses are going down the hole in the next election. I’m glad that I still have no party affiliation; no one owns my vote.

You would have to find out from your States voting rules. In TX you can vote either way. You don’t have to stay with whatever party you started out with. My husband and myself changed in 2008.

The politicians vying for power in the Republican party right now are weak candidates and not one of them could withstand the constant bashing from the far left nor the MSM. If the Republicans turn on the President then the citizens will also turn. After everything I have witnessed, I guarantee you I will vote against everyone who has defiled the office of the Presidency just because a businessman won the sit instead of a politician.

Kasik should run as s Democrat just like Paul Ryan.
Paul Ryan couldn’t beat barack hussein obama. His wimpy behind wouldn’t have won senator if it hadn’t been everyone was trying to vote Republican to help President Trump out. Altho I knew he was just like Flake and McCain. Kasik agrees with abortions and gay marriages. These silly Republicans think the main stream media would give them a break. It isn’t just Trump they hate. It is the R before his name. Trump has already said he is running again. Muller doesn’t have anything.
