President Trump gave a passionate speech Tuesday morning at the 37th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service, in honor of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.

Trump posted a statement on Twitter later Tuesday afternoon, along with two brief video clips from his speech.

Trump tweeted, “Today is one of the most important and solemn occasions of the year – the day we pay tribute to the Law Enforcement Heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty. They made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could live in safety and peace. We stand with our police (HEROES) 100%!”

In his speech, Trump assured the families of the fallen that the nation has wrapped arms of love around them, and will never forget these fallen heroes.

In another tweet, President Trump posted a video of one fallen officer’s family standing with him on stage. During his speech, Trump asked the family to come to the stage, and emotionally welcomed the 90-year-old mother of the fallen officer in a warm hug, holding her hand as he spoke.
