Police arrested a Florida father on Monday for allegedly bringing a loaded AK-47 to his son’s middle school and making death threats towards teachers.

Christopher Freeman, 27, was arrested at Bear Lakes Middle School in West Palm Beach, Florida, around 4 p.m. after a school resource officer told police that he saw a large handgun sticking out of Freeman’s pants, according to a police report.

The article goes on to state the following:

Freeman, who arrived in a wheelchair, allegedly told school workers that they would all be dead if they didn’t let him speak with his son.

“Freeman was visibly upset and was yelling and screaming ‘you’re going to need more than what you got because of what I got,'” according to the arrest affidavit. “He also said ‘I want to see the guy who slammed my son. I’ve got something for him.'”

I’d still like to know what was going on with his son. Sounds like someone got physical with his son – why? Why was his son crying when he called his dad? And, it sounds like the school was refusing to allow him to see or speak to his son when he arrived – why? The father’s reaction wasn’t just illegal it seems irrational so what triggered it? Is this parent a thug who resolves issues inappropriately or is he a parent who has been failed by the system at his wits end to help his child who was pushed to the deep end? We just had another young child in our community commit suicide because of the failure of the system to protect him from bullying. I wonder if this man’s son is possibly being bullied or if he is the bully – there is certainly more to this story that needs to be explored.
