Former Secretary of State and defeated 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton offered some advice on Friday to the ever-growing field of 2020 candidates on how to oust President Donald Trump from the Oval Office.

Clinton was the surprise drop-in guest at the Women in the World Summit held in New York City. During her appearance, CNN’s Fareed Zakaria reminded her that she had announced her second bid for president on the very same day in 2015.

“If there’s one piece of advice you have for the 18 Democrats who are trying to do what you did, about running against Donald Trump, what would it be?” he asked.

“I am absolutely delighted to see this incredibly diverse field, and especially to have more than one woman running for president of the United States,” she said, before then giving her advice on how to beat Trump.

Clinton said the candidates have to present their vision and their hope for the country, “what are you going to propose that will make a difference in the lives of Americans and maintain the values and ideals of America.”

Then she took a dig at President Trump, without mentioning him by name, saying, “You have to be able to counter, and ignore where possible, respond where necessary, to the diversion and distraction that we see working by the current incumbent in the White House.”
