A bipartisan pair of senators are pushing for a global women’s initiative spearheaded by Ivanka Trump to be written into law.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., will take on the effort, President Trump’s daughter and close adviser announced at a State Department anniversary event on Wednesday for her Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative.

The article goes on to state the following:

The proposed legislation would establish an Office of Women’s Empowerment at the State Department and make the economic empowerment of women across the globe a mainstay in U.S. foreign policy, beyond the Trump administration.

Trump’s campaign team tweeted:

“[Ivanka Trump]: It’s a part of President @realDonaldTrump’s foreign policy to uplift women, American women are thriving in the United States!”

“Glad to join my colleagues to celebrate the one-year milestone of the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative. I applaud @IvankaTrump and Ambassador Currie for their hard work to #empowerwomen around the world, and I’m excited to see what lies ahead for #WGDP,” tweeted Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

“Sen. @LindseyGrahamSC: “Thank you to Ivanka and her team for not taking ‘no’ for an answer. It’s just so much easier to pass this bill than it is to meet with her all the time.”@IvankaTrump: “Lindsey, it’s genetic,” The Hill tweeted.

GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted, ” .@realDonaldTrump and @IvankaTrump’s Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative is achieving major results in its first year.

“So far, the initiative has reached 12 MILLION women around the word and nearly 2M women in the U.S.”

Kayleigh McEnany pointed out what she called “dishonest” coverage of Ivanka Trump’s appearance on CNBC.

“Typical dishonest Democrat Party move…

“They aired a question but not @IvankaTrump’s answer, which shared the truth about what @realDonaldTrump is doing for women.

“Dems can’t handle the truth, so they conceal it…” McEnany, who is the National Press Secretary for President Donald J. Trump’s 2020 Campaign.

The DNC War Room had tweeted:

“Q: Do you find it hard to promote women’s empowerment while the administration you work for restricts reproductive rights?

“IVANKA: ‘I don’t.’”

It is apparent in the clip that she was going to say more, but the video ends abruptly at that point.
