POLL: Should President Trump retract his ‘lynching’ comment?

OCTOBER 22, 2019

One of President Trump’s Twitter posts created a firestorm Tuesday morning, when he compared the current impeachment inquiry against him to a lynching.

The president wrote, “So some day, if a Democrat becomes President and the Republicans win the House, even by a tiny margin, they can impeach the President, without due process or fairness or any legal rights. All Republicans must remember what they are witnessing here – a lynching. But we will WIN!”

The backlash soon erupted, as Democrats blasted Trump for using the word “lynching.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham defended Trump’s use of the word, and was targeted with criticism for doing so, but Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said it was an “unfortunate choice of words.”

Rep. Al Green, who has repeatedly called for Trump’s impeachment since he was elected, blasted the president in a raging speech on the House floor Tuesday morning. Green yelled, “Does he not know the history of lynching in this country? How DARE he?!”

“Do you not understand what you’re doing to this country?” he screamed in outrage, adding, “At some point, we must say enough is enough! At some point, we must say it’s time to impeach!”

PLEASE TAKE OUR POLL BELOW – WE WANT YOUR OPINION.  Should President Trump apologize for comparing the impeachment process to lynching?
