A California influencer who participated in the viral toilet-licking challenge claims to have tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The social media star, known as Larz and GayShawnMendes on Twitter, announced the diagnosis on Twitter, saying, “I tested positive for Coronavirus.”

The article goes on to state the following:

Larz’s positive test comes just days after he shared a video of himself licking the seat of toilet.

The Daily Mail reports:

The post which includes a video of him languishing in a hospital bed is a far cry from the foul video he posted five days ago of him licking a public toilet seat, which was captioned: ‘RT (retweet) to spread awareness for the Coronavirus.’

It was an imitation – or meme – of a reckless and abhorrent stunt by TikTok sensation Ava Louise. The 22-year-old filmed herself licking the toilet seat on a plane with the caption ‘coronavirus challenge.’

The challenge was initiated by Louise to “troll” the media as nations rushed to slow the spread of the virus.

The Mail reports that Larz, 21, was also one of the “influencers” who was licking tubs of ice cream in supermarkets.

According to the People report, Larz’s Twitter account has been suspended.
