Former President Obama would beat President Trump in a head-to-head match-up if an election were held today, according to a new poll released Wednesday.

The Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey obtained by Politico showed that 54 percent of respondents would vote for Obama and 43 percent would vote for Trump if the candidates faced each other now.

The article goes on to state the following:

Eric Schmeltzer, a progressive public relations consultant, paid $4,500 out of his own pocket to commission the poll, according to Politico’s Playbook.

It is noted that Obama cannot run for president again, so the poll is hypothetical, but the former president has been speaking out more against Trump and his administration, and is expected to take an active roll in campaigning for Biden.

DMLNewsApp and TeamDML.com founder Dennis Michael Lynch has long been saying that this race will not be about Biden vs. Trump, but instead will be about Obama vs. Trump.
